Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is developed by the U.S. Department of Defense Defense Health Agency (DHA) Joint Trauma System to teach evidence-based, life-saving techniques and strategies for providing the best trauma care on the battlefield o. NAEMT conducts TCCC courses as specified by the DHA-JTS. We currently offer one of the three types of TCCC courses, combined with our own MEGT course.
TCCC-CLS (TCCC Combat Lifesaver) is a 50-hour course for non-medical military personnel deploying in support of combat operations, but euqally applies to civialisn as much as it does to military personnel. r
TCCC (TC3) guidelines are a set of evidence-based best practices for battlefield trauma care that have been developed over more than 18 years of war. Originally a Naval Special Warfare and US SOCOM Medical Research & Development initiative, TC3 developed battlefield appropriate and evidence-based casualty care, based on injury patterns of previous conflicts. The primary intent of TCCC is to reduce preventable combat death through a means that allows a unit to complete its mission while providing the best possible care for casualties.
Although TCCC was developed for combat medicine, its medical practices are equally applicable to civilian environments where kinetic event induced injuries are sustained. The doctrine, both medical and tactical, translates directly to such situations. TCCC courses offered by NAEMT are endorsed by the Joint Trauma System and the American College of Surgeons and are available to civilians both in the USA and worldwide.
Included in the TCCC syllabus is MEGT (Medical Emergency Ground Tactics) The MEGT course revolves around the firearms tactics used when a shooter becomes wounded, combining these with the Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) learned in the TC3 module. The course is highly intensive, based on our real-world experience in conflict zones around the world. They combine medical and tactical scenarios and are available to students who have already reached intermediate to advanced levels of tactical firearms training. Please note that MEGT courses involve both day-time and night-time live fire shooting.
Presented with our strategic partners, TEMSOPS International and Global Phalanx, TCCC is the gold standard of tactical medicine (TACMED) and is proven to greatly increase survivability both on and off the battlefield.
